World TB Day - 2014 Message

World TB day (WTBD) is a global event that is commemorated on 24th March each year. The event is intended to raise awareness about the global and National epidemic of tuberculosis (TB) and efforts to eliminate the disease.  World TB day 2014 theme is “Reach the three million, A TB test, treatment and cure for all”. The key message is that TB is curable, but our current efforts to find, treat and cure everyone who gets ill with the disease are not sufficient.

Vision: To render Kenya and its communities free of TB, Leprosy and Lung Disease

Mission:

To offer comprehensive, affordable and accessible packages of TB, Leprosy and Lung disease interventions to all Kenyans irrespective of age, gender, race, social economic status and geographical location in order to achieve a significant reduction of morbidity and mortality from the said diseases to the extend that they no longer pose a public health threat in Kenya.

Mandate:

To formulate policies, set standards and coordinate implementation of activities, identify and mobilize resources, ensure uninterrupted supply of commodities,supervise, monitor and evaluate implementation of control activities.
