ROUTINE MONITORING
Routine collection of data and use of this information gives NLTP a much better sense of whether programme resources are best used and what interventions appears to be working or not.
The National Leprosy Tuberculosis Programme has a long history of capturing the clinical level individual patient data from all facilities where diagnosis and treatment for TB takes place. This follows international protocol as recommended by the STOP TB partnership and includes attempts to validate and check the quality of data received at the national level. Data sources for the routine monitoring cuts across case finding, treatment outcomes and MDR TB surveillance reports.
